Kimberlee Foster Coaching Newsletter Got Adventure?
June 2006 | Issue #3

Greetings,

I consider myself an adventuress, but every so often I like to take a “pulse-check” on my current levels. So if you notice this ezine is a bit more intense, that’s why. My writing reflects where I am personally, and these days I’m calling myself forth to be a bit more adventurous.

What about you? What is your level of adventure? How might you call yourself forth a bit more? If you know in your heart something's missing, hopefully this issue will inspire you to do something about it ... and if you need help, I know of a great coach!

Don’t forget to send me your own “toot” (see the new “Tooting Your Own Horn!” section). I thrive on interaction, so please join me in this e-zine adventure.

To your adventurous spirit!
Kimberlee

P.S. Welcome new subscribers! Some of you I don't know (yet!). Please drop me an email and tell me more about yourself.

  • Adding Adventure to Your Life

    Feature Article
    by Kimberlee Foster, CPCC

Many years ago, when my partner (at the time) and I were planning canoe-camping trips in the Adirondacks (Upstate New York), our friends would look at us in disbelief and say, "What if this and what if that?" We'd just stare back (with equal disbelief) and say "So what? We'll deal with it." And just to prove it (aka "rubbing it in" when you're a New Yorker!), we took along our two big dogs!

Woman on the Verge of Wyoming, an adventure story

    Woman runs away from home.
    Succeeds.

When women hear the plot of my new novel, the universal reaction from all ages is “Hey, I want to run away from home too!” I wondered if women wanted to run away, or do they just crave something different? More adventure?

    Tooting Your Own Horn!

Recently I sent out an email with a paragraph at the very end stating what I'd accomplished over the past year. My coach saw it and said "You put all this juicy stuff about yourself at the bottom! What's up with that?!"

I took that as a challenge and hence, this new section ... at the top (or close enough). After all, this month's theme is about being adventurous, right? So here it is, my toot:

Over the past year I've completed advanced training in Organizaton & Relationship Coaching, a 7 Week Course in Body-Centered Coaching and, next month, I will complete a 6-month Stress Resiliency/Wellness Coach Training program. So I'm rarin' to go with helping you create optimum health & wellness - in relationships, in career ... in your precious self.

So now it's your turn! I invite you to email me your personal "toot" ... and, with your permission, I'll publish it in next month's issue. With your name. I dare ya!

    Did You Know?

Stress is our No. 1 health problem, draining $300 billion from the American economy every year -- in absenteeism, lower productivity, increased health-care costs and loss of valuable talent. Harvard cardiologist Herbert Benson says stress is the underlying cause of 60% to 90% of all doctors' visits. Management guru Tom Peters says "stress may kill" you. Stress adds costs, reduces job performance ...

    Adventure in New Zealand

Just as this ezine was "going to press," I received a DVD from my friend, Jenn Wright, about her adventure coaching in New Zealand. I was so excited by what she's doing with mid-life women and adventure, that I decided to add this section to tell you about her.

Jenn's work as an Adventure Coach was featured in TIME magazine (May 16, 2005 issue) and more recently in 60 Minutes Australia. Jenn and I have been mulling over the idea of doing something like this together in the U.S. ... more on that later.

Her promotional DVD is available, at no charge, for anyone serious about her program (click link below to order one). Plan your trip wisely. New Zealand's seasons are Spring (Nov), Summer (Jan, Feb), and Autumn (March).
